During the first few lessons with my Y9 class, one particular student was quite ‘stand offish’ about having a new teacher as they didn’t particularly like Math’s. After a few weeks I was able to build a good relationship with the student. The next lesson that they attended, they expressed excitement for math’s because I would be teaching them.
