A success story from my teaching so far would be from a year 7 music lesson. It was the last lesson of a keyboard topic and the class were doing their summative assessment. A student with challenging SEND needs who had been struggling with some of the lesson content previously, was one of the first students to be assessed and to be given a mark. The mark they achieved was only 1 below where I expected most of the class to be but the student was disheartened. I gave the student some points for improvement and told them to work on them and then at the end of the lesson I would re-assess if there was time. They had spent half an hour on focused improvement and went up an entire mark bracket. I was proud of the student for being able to focus and to produce the quality of work that they did.
