A pupil was struggling with some of the content of the data representation module. He found the topic on binary challenging and was disengaged with the lessons. I introduced games with binary and the pupil came into the next lesson wanting to play the games and have another lesson on the topic. At the end of the lesson I put the game on the board and the pupil was explaining how to work out the answers to the others and then telling them if they had the correct answer or not. My mentor was impressed with the change in the pupil’s attitude towards the topic and it was great to see how I had “fostered a love of learning”.
