This half term I have experienced teaching a mixed group of male and female pupils who are a lower ability group. This group is hard to motivate and get engagement from within the lesson. In my hockey lesson, pupils were highly motivated due to the different drills that I introduced that were fun and had some extra challenge. Furthermore, using reward points has helped to encourage and motivate along with building relationships with the pupils. Hearing the pupils saying “That was really fun and I enjoyed that” to my subject mentor was pleasing.
