My favourite success has been my ability to work outside my comfort zone. I am a biologist, however I understand the importance of being able to teach all three sciences. Physics has never been my strongest science but I have made great efforts to improve my subject knowledge and confidence, including taking part in the Physics Partners Programme (run by the Archdiocese of Liverpool). I then challenged myself to teach a sequence of learning for the forces topic to a high ability Y9 class. I was nervous at first but over the course of the half term, my confidence grew and my class were ready to complete their assessment. After marking their assessments, I asked their usual class teacher to moderate a few for me. She agreed with the marking and feedback and when the data was inputted, the class had made great progress. I was proud of the class and proud of myself for not backing away from a challenge.
