At the start of the year, one of my Y7 pupils was struggling quite a lot in Math’s. She initially needed a significant amount of intervention within lessons to keep up with the average learning of students in the class. She always showed a great attitude towards learning and clearly had a desire to learn, which is something I have encouraged. After giving the pupil this initial support and then gradually withdrawing this, she became increasingly independent while retaining her enthusiasm. By Christmas, this pupil has been scoring amongst the highest in the class in assessments and continues to be a model pupil in terms of her attitude to learning.
